PANTRY REMAKE

I was browsing the internet right before I was going to start dinner and checked out a blog my friend Melanie had told me about called HOUSE OF SMITH'S I came across her Pantry Remake post and OHMYGOSH! After briefly reading it I instantly ran to my pantry and started tearing it apart. (keep in mind it was around 5pm and I was supposed to be started dinner!) But when inspiration hits me I have to move quickly before it goes away.
So back to the demolishing of my pantry:
I thought it was pretty organized until I read that blog and then I saw how cluttered it really was! The top shelf I had stored things I used within a year
WHAT!!
Get rid of it!
So everything I didn't use in a month's time went downstairs into the food storage pantry. I used to have a whole entire shelf dedicated to canned goods
NOT ANYMORE!
GONE!
I used to be on this rampage of buying large cereal containers for cereal and chips. I have about 14 of them and after reading that blog it looks VERY cluttered. I can't afford to replace them all at once, but I went to WAL-MART and bought some cute glass canisters. I also went to DI to look for things that needed a little make over and that I could use for storage. (I'm trying to venture out of the storage section of the store and look for things that aren't necessarily for storage but it would look cute holding something.)
Here's my thing with DI:
I HATE IT! Gross used crap. It smells. Its someone else's gross crap.
I was hyperventilating the first 10 minutes giving myself a pep talk in my head.
Try and think outside of the box. Picture it with spray paint.
I spent $20 (I know, expensive for shopping at DI, but once I started picturing things spray painted I saw more bargains.)
So 2 days later and several trips to the downstairs storage room this is what I came up with: (And we ate out that night too!)

YARD

BATMAN & SUPERMAN

Here's Austin with his best bud Carson. Austin is really into Superman and Batman so I bought these shirts for him at the GAP. When Carson comes over he makes Carson where one of his shirts and shows him how to hold his arm and fly like Superman.
One time David was jumping on the tramp with Austin and they saw an airplane. Austin squinted his eyes really hard at the plane (thinking he had Superman's superpower lazer eyes to burn the plane) and told David all frustrated:"It's not working Dad!!!"
He really takes Playing Pretend to the extreme!!

PARK CITY

We had a fun weekend with Shane and Rahndi and their kids up at Park City. We went shopping at the outlets, went out to eat at me and Dave's favorite restaurant downtown, and then went on the Alpine Slide. The kids had sooo much fun! I took Addie down and she laughed the whole way down while I screamed! I don't remember it being so fast! It was a fun day.

SWIMMING WITH COUSINS

The kids love going to the pool. Living in a small town we always bump into neighbors so everytime we go their is always a friend to play with. Aubree hangs out where the diving boards are (with only having 2 swim lessons at age 4 and 8 she's an amazing swimmer!) Addie hangs out with me and Austin just wants to do the waterslide the whole time. This time I dragged my sister in law with me and her kids.

Austin's New Hobby

David and Aubree run the track at the high school a couple nights a week and one night Austin wanted to go to. So without us saying anything he puts on his "running outfit" as he calls it and his "running shoes (aka spiderman shoes that lightup) and we all went to the track.
Austin ran 5 laps with me and Davids mouths gaping open.
Everytime he would get back to the starting line up he would say "C'mon Dad lets go!" When he was almost at the finish line we would cheer him on and he would run really fast to "win" with a huge grin on his face.
He's never done 5 laps in a row since then but he'll at least do 2 or 3.
Addie and I sit on the stands and cheer them on dreaming of the marathon we might run someday...in the millennium ...

GARDEN

Here's an update on the backyard. Daylilies are starting to bloom and David wants me to plant more. Ummm... we have 30 of them, isn't that enough? This morning I just planted 8 more roses with 2 more on the way. The company that I order from sent me the wrong rose so they said just to keep that one and they will send me the right one within a week. YEAH! Except now I have to start digging another hole! So it brings the grand total to 22!

Wheeler Farm

If you ever want a cheap place to take your kids Wheeler farm is definitely the place! We spent $10 for the whole family to take a wagon ride and then the kids just ran around looking at the animals, playing in the treehouse, feeding the ducks, and playing in the stream. Austin wasn't feeling good so he stayed in the car with David most of the time.

HAPPY FOURTH!

We had a great 4th of July weekend. We went to the parade and sat with Shane and Rahndi and their kids. It was Austin's first time actually enjoying the parade. It was right up his alley with a flyover from Hills Airforce base, lots of firetrucks, police cars, and motorcycles. Later on we had a BBQ with Shane and Rahndi and of course fireworks. We found an empty parking lot and laid down all of the seats in the back and had a great view of the Desert Peak fireworks.

ECLIPSE REVIEW

I went and saw the movie last night with my good friends Melanie and Mandy. Had a blast! And went home with my stomach hurting from laughing so hard.
Anyway, abut the movie:
LOVED IT!! So here's my list:
* They finally got the kiss right on both sides. No more moaning and weird sounds! Jacob and Bellas kiss was how Edward and Bella's first kiss should have been.
*They finally got the make-up right on Edward and he FINALLY LOOKED GOOD!! The tent scene...YUM!
*Bella finally looked cute and she didn't annoy the heck out of me in this one. She smiled a lot more
*I liked Bella and Edwards relationship better. It was how I read it in the books.
*Great meadow scene
*Better music then New Moon although I still liked Twilights soundtrack better
*Great fight scene. (seriously, were those arms being flung into the air?)
*Their weren't as many cheesy lines. Their were still cheesy lines, just not as many.
*Loved the tent scene from both Jacob and Edward. Still can't get over how good Edward looked
* I haven't read Eclipse in a long time, but I don't think they added anything differently, maybe I'm wrong
*Why does Bella have to choose? She's definitely got the best of both worlds. I think its funny how the critics say theirs nothing about Bella that would make 2 guys completely in love with her. I think we all have our little fantasy (back when we were teenagers of course!) Of feeling awkward and plain and wishing we had 2 hot guys completely in love with us!

*Rosalie's make up was horrible! She looked weird
*I didn't like the new Victoria. She wasn't very scarey. She seemed more of a threat in New Moon. What?! She's afraid of the Cullens. C'mon! Be the villian.
*Jacob didn't seem as buff in this one (that's a HUGE downside!! Maybe I was just paying more attention to Edward in this one!)

So in a nutshell:LOVED IT! CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!!
