HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADDISON!!

ADDISON'S 4TH BIRTHDAY!!

Addison's birthday really isn't until Monday (Shout out to Lis!) but since Austin's was last week she's been driving us crazy so we gave up and celebrated it a little early (we did the same thing last year!) It was extremely windy and we were going to go to Thanksgiving Point so she could ride the ponies, but we talked her into going to Discovery Gateway instead since it was indoors. Then we had cake & ice cream with Grandma & Grandpa Cheney and opened presents. She got a Tinker Bell play set, a Cinderella barbie, a puppy playhouse, Lil petshop art set from G. Jensen's, and Belle polly pockets. She peeked at her presents last week so nothing was a surprise the little stinker! For weeks she has been saying she wanted a Barbie Island Princess cake and the day before she changed her mind and just wanted a pink barbie cake but I had already gotten everything for the island princess cake so we compromised with a pink "skirt".

A few things about Addie"
* she is my princess girlie girl
* doesn't mind having her hair done, loves to put on make up (its fake!), will only wear dresses
*changes 20 million times a day
*hates to get dirty
*hates to be wet (dries her hands until they are raw)
*loves her ballet class
*Fav. movies right now are Enchanted and Phantom of the Opera
*loves broccoli ( we were in the store the other day and I caught her munching on broccoli right off the shelf!

Its drama all day but we wouldn't have it any other way!

OUR WEEKEND

The weather was GORGEOUS this weekend so we took advantage! On Saturday their was the annual Blue and White scrimmage where BYU plays against each other. Then on Sunday we went to the Great Salt Lake and I forgot my camera (ARGH!!!!) and then today Dave took a PTO since it was going to be 80, & we were going to take the kids to the zoo, but it was soooo windy!! So we took them to Discovery Gateway instead.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUSTIN!!

AUSTIN'S 2ND BIRTHDAY!

My baby is 2!!! Today we celebrated Austin's birthday with some of his aunts and uncles. I made him a baseball cake sitting on top of a "dirty" pitchers mound (in case you couldn't tell! It didn't come out the way I was hoping but then again they never do!) he got a riding toy, Thomas the train playset and the barn play set.

A few things about Austin:
* he is extremely active! he loves to do somersaults
* he loves balls and shooting hoops in his BYU basketball hoop in his room
* he still sucks his darn finger and still adores his blanket
* he loves playing with his sisters and will go to them if I won't do what he wants me to do
* he loves the movie Cars, Toy Story, and Thomas the Train
* he will play in his room for hours with the door shut

And most of all he's adorable and we love him very much!

SPRING BREAK

Since we're trying to put our yard in we didn't go anywhere for Spring Break but we did manage to have lots of fun! We hung out with my sister 3 times, went to Discovery Gateway (Childrens Museum), Dave took the girls to a movie, and then we got a babysitter for the whole day! So here's some random pictures for a

DISNEY PRINCESS ON ICE

I took the girls to Disney on Ice since they were doing all of the princess'. They have been looking forward to this day for weeks! They woke up early this morning as if it were Christmas Eve. The show was fantastic! Especially the grand finale. When it was over Aubree said "Mom I had too much fun!" Then we went to Mc'Ds for lunch and then to Limited Too (it was either that or Build a Bear) so they could pick out something small since I refused to buy anything at the show since the prices were outrageous!! But it was a fun day spending time with my girls.

GROSS!

Aubree woke up early this morning just bawling. Here's our conversation:

AUBREE: Mom I did something really bad (sobbing)

ME: What?!

AUBREE: I stole Hannas bone (hanna is our 8 year old neighbor)

ME: Please explain (you can imagine what is going through my head!)

AUBREE: In the summer we found a dead horse's jaw bone and me and Hanna buried it and then when she left I dug it back up and hid it in my drawer.

ME: (trying not to laugh or throw up!) As long as you realize what you did was wrong and you never do it again (meaning don't ever hide a dead animals body part in the house!) then its okay.

So then she goes and gets it and it is seriously half of a jaw with teeth still intact of what looks like a very large dog. And it has been sitting in her drawer for 6 months!!!! Our house is right next to a farm and they are always playing out there. Not anymore! Are you kidding me!!

ME, MY BRO & SIS FLEW TO ENGLAND BY OURSELVES (AGES 14,16,&17) TO VISIT BRITISH RELATIVES AND TRAVELED ALL OVER ENGLAND

OH DEAR,,,,HOW DO I EXPLAIN THIS ONE...I WOULD GET BORED WITH A GUY AFTER 3 WEEKS (OR VICE VERSA!) I WAS A HUGE FLIRT AND WAS ALWAYS LOOKING FOR THAT HIGH SCHOOL BOYFRIEND. I STARTED DATING DAVID TOWARDS THE END OF MY SENIOR YEAR.

Craziest thing I did in high school
ABOUT 15 OF MY FRIENDS PILED INTO A VAN ON NEW YEARS EVE AND WE TOOK A STOP SIGN AND SHOVED IT INTO THE VAN. DROVE AROUND FOR A BIT & DECIDED TO PUT IT BACK (IN CASE SOMEONE WERE TO GET INTO A WRECK, PROBABLY SMART!) ALSO SLIDING DOWN THE COTTON SEEDS AND HAVING THE COPS CALLED AND ONLY 3 OF US GOT AWAY. Ooooo DEVIL CHILD!
I SPENT MY SENIOR PROM WATCHING THE JAZZ GAME. COINCIDENTALLY DAVE FLEW IN THAT WEEKEND FOR A VISIT. APPARENTLY RM'S DON'T GO TO THE PROM!!!
I ACTUALLY HATED 75% OF MY HIGH SCHOOL LIFE AND WOULD NEVER GO BACK IF SOMEONE PAID ME!!!!

Nothing too exciting! Leftover Valentine pictures & bowling pictures. WHERE IS SUMMER!!!!! My bulbs are starting to sprout which is a huge shocker cuz I dug them up from my old house and planted them in okay dirt just to see what they would do and out of the 100 it looks like 30 of them made it!

DISCOVERY GATEWAY CHILDRENS MUSEUM

We took the kids to Discovery Gateway Friday night
and they LOVED it. Their was so much for them to do.
I spent my night chasing Austin to every exibit. He was
so hyper! All 3 of them were asleep before we even got
out of the parking lot.

This is Austin's new thing if he's too lazy to actually
hold his blanket. This way he doesn't have to hold it,
but its still very close by. Sometimes he'll walk around
like this and it will drop in his face and then you will hear
a huge THUNK! when he runs into the wall.

So David comes home from work yesterday(Feb. 5) and says, "Happy Valentines Day honey!"

ADVICE FROM A 7 YEAR OLD

As I'm giving Aubree my latest Gymboree splurge:
AUBREE: Mom! Quit buying me new clothes! I have too much! You need to start saving money.
ME: I promise I won't buy any more clothes until summer
AUBREE: Promise?
ME: I promise


The kids were playing downstairs so I thought I had a few minutes to read my latest novel. I sat down for maybe 2 minutes when they came running in the livingroom.

ME: ARGH!!! Why can't I ever have time to read?!
AUBREE: Because you had kids!

So true so true!

Thought This Was Cute

This morning I went in to wake the girls for school and found that Addie (who will be 4 end of April) had wet the bed. She put a towel over the spot (made Aubree sleep there of course), changed her clothes and put a pull up on all by herself!

OUR TRIP TO ARIZONA

9 REASONS NEVER TO TRAVEL WITH 3 KIDS: (in no particular order)

* 12 hours of : Don't touch me! and Austin's pulling my hair (Austin thought this was hilarious so it was hard to punish him), lots of screaming,whining, and of course..Aubree every 30 minutes: ARE WE THERE YET?

* I left my wallet on top of the car while I was getting gas and forgot about it. So now some homeless guy in Vegas is enjoying a great meal with my cash and photos of my kids I can't replace!

* At our hotel in Vegas the "door" that was covering up the air conditioner fell on Austin & smashed his toe! Hotel management came up and took a report and took pictures of his foot. We got a free room but Austin was miserable the rest of the day and his nail will probably fall off.

* 12 hours of news talk radio on the presidential campaign (McCain & Romney are neck and neck in case anyone wanted to know!)

* "I have to go potty" as I look outside my window at the never ending desert of dirt and bushes

* We took the wrong freeway when we were almost to my parents so that delayed us another 30 minutes. (When you have been in a car for 12 hours 30 minutes is a VERY long time!)

* Aubree & Austin got pink eye

* Austin's quart of milk was spilling all over the foot of the front seat & I didn't realize it until we got there. It drenched my brand new NON WATERPROOF purse!

* As we are driving back home into a snowstorm I hear David say "We need to move."

That was the worst of it. We actually had a really great time. The weather was gorgeous at a sunny 65! I was loving it and wanted to be outside all of the time. We went to the Phoenix Zoo which was great and probably one of the best zoo's I have been to (besides San Diego of course!) their was a merry go round and a huge play area for the kids that was a treehouse. Aubree & Addie had a ball climbing through everything & Austin explored dragging his blanket everywhere in the dirt. It was a great escape from being cooped up in the house. Then my family watched the kids so Dave and I could escape ourselves. We stayed at The Point Hilton Resort in Phoenix. David complained the whole time that it wasn't a Marriot. On the way back we stayed in Vegas at the Planet Hollywood Hotel (where Austin smashed his toe) we took the kids to the Fao Schwartz toy store which was 3 stories! We had dinner at Cheesecake Factory and walked around the mall. It was great spending time with family I haven't seen in awhile and getting away from the cold.
