CHENEY FAMILY NEWSLETTER 2008
I'm not doing cards this year since most of you can look at the blog anyway.
Like every year, it was another busy year! In August it marked our 1 year anniversary of being in our house in Stansbury with no talk of a move! (That has never happened!) This year we traveled to Arizona to visit family and went to Disneyland. Our HUGE project this year was getting a yard in. I am so glad the basics on the house are finished so I can enjoy it before we move again. (Remember, no talk of a move, but you never know with us!) Dave and I also celebrated our 10 year anniversary!
David has been with American Express for 2 years now. The company recently did layoffs of 7,000 people nationwide so we are very grateful that David wasn't one of them especially during these hard economic times. This year he got his brokers license & is still going to school at Westminster for his MBA. He is still doing his accounting "firm" on the side & him and his "partners" have another little project going on that keeps him VERY busy, but I'm not ready to mention it yet. Maybe in next years letter. It was another year of BYU football and he took Aubree to a couple of the games, but looks forward to when Austin can go (Aubree's getting bored)
Aubree is very busy this year. She just turned 8 and is looking forward to being baptized Dec.6. Aubree is involved in dance and a music/theater group. ( I live in my car) This past summer we put her in a summer school program at Challenger that was in West Jordan (45 minutes away!) We felt that she didn't get much out of 1st grade and felt that this would be a good move. It was a long 6 weeks of driving, but Aubree loved it. She's my little mommy around the house helping me with the kids and when she's not doing that she's making some kind of craft.
Addison is 4 1/2 and is hilarious! She is as girly as you can get and is very particular about everything. She has preschool 3 times a week and is in her 2nd year of ballet. Addie loves to take baths in the middle of the day and play with her toys. She loves Tinker Bell and the highlight of her year was watching Tinker Bell fly over the Disneyland Castle during the fireworks show (I will never forget that squeal!)
Austin is 2 1/2 and what can I say? He has sooo much energy and is my little tornado. He is very particular on what he wears. He LOVES his Cars pj shirt with red shorts and orange shorts (Yes he has to wear both pairs of shorts at the same time!) He still adores his blanket and his finger.
And me? I think this has been my busiest year. If I'm not running kids every where I am babysitting a little girl named Lauren. I recently was called into Young Womens which puts on a whole new meaning of busy with meetings and mutual, but I am learning to love the calling and to love the girls. I'm looking forward to another summer with our yard and hoping that at least one tree survives the winter!
We hope to find everyone well and happy!
Love, The Cheneys

HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY AUBREE
I'm not old enough to have an 8 year old! We went to McD's for lunch at The Gateway & then David took the girls to Madagascar while I walked around with a screaming 2year old. Then we had a small party with family and a couple of the neighborhood kids. Aubree's main present was a tent/playhouse that I forgot to take a picture of. She thought that was all she was getting, but I surprised her with a pair of heely's (shoes with a wheel on the bottom for those of you not with the times) She has been asking for those for 2 years now. Aubree is very excited to be baptized next month (so is mommy...cleaning...what to make for food...cleaning...) Aubree had a great day. FYI: If you are someone who is a regular reader of this blog can you guess what Aubree's favorite outfit is?

ARGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So last night Austin does something to his arm. He was jumping off of the couch and we think he landed on his arm funny. Anyways. He's screaming anytime we move it. By 10pm nothing had changed and David takes him to the ER. he gets to the parking lot and Austin has stopped crying and decides to take him home (everytime we think something is wrong with our kids it ends up being just fine with no need for medical attention, but we have to fork out the bill anyway so this is why david took him home.) But of course he wakes up several times during the night screaming. So I take him in this morning and of course nothing is wrong,(pulled muscle) but I took the cell phone so I could call somebody in case I couldn't pick up Addie from preschool. So of course since I have the cell David's tire blows out on the freeway on the way to work. NICE! So now I will admit its nice to have inlaws close by! Ahhh..& its only noon....
