Memorial Day Weekend

Yes the Cheney's finally own a tent!  David says camping for him is staying at a 4 star resort instead of a 5 star...so no camping for the Cheney's!  We bought them a tent and they stayed up all night playing and eventually fell asleep. (We of course dragged them out around midnight because we didn't want them sleeping out there since we weren't right their with them)
We  took  Austin to the races on Saturday thinking he would love it since he loves to watch it on TV. But it was way too loud and he just covered his ears the whole time. I managed to get a smile when we took him to the museum.
It was yucky weather on Monday so david went into work and I took the kids to Kangaroo Zoo. So sick of the weather!!!

Hard Saying Good-Bye

Normally your kids are excited on the last day of school, but not when you have a teacher like Miss Karma!  Addie's class had a hard time when it was time to leave (a lot of the kids were SOBBING!!! I am NOT exaggerating!! )  Miss Karma really puts in her heart and soul with her teaching. AT the end of the year she makes them each a book with all of their reports, artwork, and pictures. (Their were at least 10 individual pictures of Addie,  all posed for whatever party or holiday they were doing that day.)  Addie will miss having her as a teacher. Austin starts Miss Karma's summer school next Tuesday. Its for 6 weeks, Mon-Thurs from 8:30-12pm all for a whoppin $15 (she's finally raised her prices! When Addie went it was $10! )

Austin's Preschool Graduation

Austin's  very last day with Miss Melodi and Miss Sylvia.  Austin goes to 2 different preschools and this one helped him with his speech. He's been going to them for 2 1/2 years and doesn't qualify anymore so they are sad to see him go.
Miss Michelle. One of his teachers and our neighbor!
 Excuse the red eyes

His graduation ceremony with Miss Steph
The BEST preschool teacher! Austin has been going to her for 2 years and will continue next year.  She has a great reading program and all of her kids are reading at 1st and 2nd grade levels before they go into kindergarten.

Fallen Book Review

Fallen (Fallen, #1)Fallen by Lauren Kate

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Liked it, but didn't love it. Towards the end I was beginning to think I wasn't going to get the 2nd one, but the very last paragraph made me change my mind. Sometimes I don't like reading a series because the rest of the books just lead into the next book. So we shall see...

Latest Project

I have been getting the itch to put something new in my house. This table has been sitting in my garage since Christmas, just waiting for the motivation to hit. Well it finally did (mainly because I'm cleaning out the garage and needed to move it!) So I painted it white and scuffed it up and LOVE it! Now I wish I had done this with everything I have painted. For now I just decorated with things that I already had around the house. So the whole project cost me 5 bucks!

Aubree's 4th Grade Program

 Her book that she made
 Her bowl
Her picture is the very top thats very orange!
Her good friend Bryn Squires. Out of 11 girls who tried out for soccer, these were the only two who made it!

I thought I was going to watch a short presentation! Boy was I amazed! They must have been working on this all year! Aubree was a little tickled pink that the boy she thinks is really cute asked her to be his partner in the square dance.

Juliet Book Review

JulietJuliet by Anne Fortier

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Loved this book!!!! Loved the characters and loved all of the twists. Definitely a keeper on my bookshelf. Its a fiction novel about the ancestors of the characters behind Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Their was actually 2 stories going on at the same time. The author would go back and forth between present and past stories which I think helped me keep my attention (my attention span reminds me of a 3 year old)

He's Back!!

Addie's purse (that I will be borrowing!)
My favorite gift he brought back was an old book in French. It looks perfect on my bookshelf!
BELOW: David said the necklace cost him almost $100 Euro's! I think he got scammed, but whatever, its from PARIS! The lotion and soap were from a tour they did at a factory that makes make up and things like that (part of the business side of the trip) and then the soap, which makes me want to redo my bathroom and then something he just picked up at one of the market stores. He also brought home some chocolate which I can't stop eating. Oh why can't they make chocolate like that here!!! One of the tours was a chocolate factory (and he said that I would be bored when they had to visit business because of the MBA trip...ummmm a make up factory and a chocolate factory?! I think I would've been okay.
David FINALLY got home yesterday and I have been following him around like a little puppy. His timeclock is totally off. He went to bed at 8pm and was up at 2am. And then he left for work this morning before I was even up.
Since he didn't take any pictures on the trip, I took some pictures of SOME of the things he brought home. He bought Austin a comic book in French along with some others things, Aubree a soccer jersery of one of the french teams along with jelwery and a bunch of other things. Addie he brought home a purse, jewlery and candy.
So yes I wish I was downloading pictures from France (with me in them!!!) and making a scrapbook on OUR trip to France, I will decorate our house with HIS souvineers and plan for the day, when someday I will go somewhere and actually have pictures to post!!....and a scrapbook to make.....
But I am soooo glad he is home and I can't believe how much I missed him.

Brianna Boulter

Excuse the horrible pictures, but my scanner is not working.
I lost a dear friend from high school over the weekend due to cancer leaving behind 4 kids. I have been thinking about her all weekend remembering our fun times. Brianna, I always thought was in that "popular" group at school, but she was friends with everyone. She was always good in sports and was master of the tether ball. One time for some weird reason I wanted to play. Most of the "mean girls" (and you know who I'm talking about. Theirs at least 5 at every elementary school!) anyway, the "mean girls" would immediately beat me as soon as it was my turn, not even giving me a chance to play. But Brianna would always let me play for awhile and then eventually beat me, but the fact that she would let me have a chance to play was a big deal to me. I remember in high school on New Years Eve me, Brianna, and Allison drove around in her van looking for Bri's latest crush trying to catch him making out with Michelle. I thought it was pretty cool hanging out with Bri the "Homecoming Queen" for that year (she won every year!) and it was just the 3 of us hanging out. Bri would always call me for a ride to the church dances and one time I didn't have room but I told her yes anyway because she was just someone you always liked to be around. I remember showing up at her bridal shower and she seemed so excited to see me. Thats just how she was, she loved everyone.  She seemed really glad that I took the time to come.  She had a beautiful smile and was friends with everyone. We will miss you Bri!! You have touched my life with your friendship and will truly be missed!

More Tulips

I have these tulips underneath all of my trees

My kids think its SUMMER!

It finally hits 70 and my kids think its hot enough to break out the waterslide! I hooked up the hose to the hot water tap in the garage so they played until the hot water ran out.
